An Icelandic woman with zero interest in celebrating her 90th birthday went on a 4 day horse riding trip to avoid throwing a party, reports RÚV.

“I decided to go on this trip so I wouldn’t have to throw a party or participate in all that birthday hassle,” said Sigríður Sörensdóttir, who is in excellent shape for her age. “Unfortunately few are so lucky. I think that riding horses has played its part [in keeping me healthy], you spend so much time outside. You’re moving around a lot, there are a lot of things to do and your mind is always moving, thinking about something special. It gives life so much purpose and the camaraderie is not small thing either.”

Sigríður, who is also planning a 10 day riding trip in July, told RÚV that as long as she is stable enough in the saddle, she will keep on riding.
