From Iceland — Naked Tourist Victim Of Prank

Naked Tourist Victim Of Prank

Published December 14, 2012

A tourist who was arrested by police for running naked around the Prime Minister’s office explained that he had been tricked by some Icelandic girls.
Capital area police report that the police recently received a call about a naked man running around on the lawn of the Prime Minister’s office (shown above). This part of town is densely populated and gets a lot of foot and car traffic, so it was not long before his frolicking attracted attention.
The man in question was a tourist, and was not fully naked, but wearing a pair of socks. He expressed his deep embarrassment to the police as he explained his story of how he ended up in this situation.
According to the tourist, he had met some Icelandic girls in a bar who told him it was an Icelandic tradition to run naked on the grass of the Prime Minister’s office. They offered to hold his clothes as he performed the task. Instead, the girls ran off with his clothing, leaving him naked in public.
The tourist was wrapped in a blanket and taken to the police station, but as his wallet had been in his pants, he had no ID to prove who he was.
The story ends on a somewhat upbeat note, however, as when the tourist returned to his hotel, he found his clothes waiting for him at the front desk. The girls who had tricked him, though, had left.
