So this has been a pretty great festival thus far, all things
considered. And it still has a bunch of greatness left, too. One of the
great things that are left is the Grapevine sponsored off-venue show at
Lost Horse gallery tomorrow (Saturday). At the Lost Horse, Grapevine's
very own photographer, Julia Staples, is hosting a show entitled 'No
Man's Land' along with GV art writer Lana Vogestad, and that is well
worth visiting in itself. But add some gnarly free ice cream from Ísbúð
Vesturbæjar (GV's favourite ice creamery) and sweet music courtesy of
some select artists, and you've got yourself a pretty bitchin' party
right there.

On Saturday, the Lost Horse will play host to a variety of talented and
excellent artists, playing stripped down versions of their songs.
You've got Skúli Þórðarson, who has a voice that could knock over a
skyscraper and lyrics that can put a man to tears (given that he
understands Icelandic). You've got Una Sveinbjarnardóttir and her
lovely violin - she's a Bedroom Community affiliate, as well as a
violinist for the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra. Then Snorri Helgason
(of Sprengjuhöllin fame) will play his lamented solo stuff, Reykjavík!
will do a low-key acoustic set (yeah, we can do it) and Adda with her
tender melodies.

As for the show itself, it features some great photo installations from
the now-abandoned NATO base in Keflavík, as well as a video
installation that has comes with a creamy payoff.
