Scouts Invade Reykjavík

Unless you have been in hibernation the past few days you most likely noticed a great number of people in and around Reykjavík in uniform or, at least, with neatly tied colourful scarves around their necks. Approximately 3,000 Scouts from 44 nations have descended on Iceland for Roverway, an annual jamboree of European Scouts.

After taking the weekend to explore the capital, the Scouts are setting out for a number of different activities throughout Iceland to become better acquainted with the country, its nature, culture and Society. The event will end with the erecting of a Scouting village just east of Úlfljótsvatn, where the Scouting activities will continue a couple days longer.
