The website orkuaudlindir.is started by Björk, Jón Þórisson and Oddný Eir Ævarsdóttir to collect signatures against the sale of HS Orka to Magma Energy is down, reports mbl.is.
Jón says he does not know what the problem is with the site, whether it is a direct attack on the page or a technical problem with the host server Skýrr. He hopes the latter is the case as the matter is very strange.
“We’ve been working on it since yesterday, but we haven’t made any progress,” says Jón. He goes on to remark that it is curious that it is only page hosted by Skýrr that appears to not be working, especially since it the message is very important to people right now. He wonders if it is simply a coincidence or something is amiss.
“It is clear that there is a lot at stake for those who disagree with us and I wonder what people are willing to do,” he states.
He assures that the data from the website is secure and has not been loss, despite the technical difficulties.
