Reykjavík Arts Festival Gets New Manager

Guðrún Norðfjörð has been hired as the new General Manager of the Reykjavík Arts Festival,  reports Morgunblaðið. She was selected out of twenty-four applicants for the job, the deadline of which was June 25th.
Guðrún, who has been a project manager for the festival for the past five years, did her Masters in cultural management at Goldsmiths College in London and has a Bachelors degree in French from the University of Iceland. She has an extensive background in managing local theatre groups.
As General Manager of the Reykjavík Arts Festival, she will be responsible for the overall preparation of the festival, commercial management and financial management amongst other duties. The festival‘s Artistic Director Hrefna Haraldsdóttir is in charge of the festival‘s programming.
Guðrún‘s new position is effective as of September 1.
