Starting 8 September, a new travel fee will be in effect for those wishing to travel to the United States.

The toll applies to those wishing to visit the country for 90 days or less. Once paid, it is valid for 2 years and is only 1,600 ISK. If you are planning on travelling to the US, you'd be well advised to contact the US embassy in Iceland before this date in order to avoid paying the fee altogether.
