From Iceland — Anti-Bullying Organisation Shuts Down

Anti-Bullying Organisation Shuts Down

Published February 10, 2014

Icelandic anti-bullying organisation, Regnbogabörn (Rainbow Children) has shut down after 12 years, reports mbl.is.

“This is tough news to break but unfortunately this decision is the result of a lack of sufficient funding as well as some other reasons that I won’t air here.” said Stefán Karl Stefánsson, founder and chairman of Rainbow Children.

All of the organisation’s work will be stopped, they will not answer phone calls or emails and those dealing with issues surrounding bullying have been asked to refer to school offices or in serious cases, the police.
